OUR STORY

Fort Leonard Wood Chapter #152 National Sojourners was granted a Charter to organize on January 20, 1942. 53 Officers are listed as founding members on the Charter.

Harry S Truman, Past Grand Master of Missouri, was sworn in as Vice President on January 20, 1945. Colonel Truman applied for membership to the Fort Leonard Wood Sojourners on April 3, 1945. Vice President Truman was sworn in 9 days later as President of the United States following the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 12, 1945.

Sometime after 1968, possibly after his death on December 26, 1972, the Chapter name was changed to Harry S (without the period) Truman Chapter No. 152, National Sojourners in honor of the Past Grand Master of Missouri and President of these United States.

Our Chapter is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community. We Proudly Serve the Cause of Patriotism through Americanism Programs, Bridge of Light Programs, Flag Programs, Patriotic Observances, and performing Color Guards in Colonial Uniform.

We also support Educational and Youth Programs with a variety of active projects and our dedicated Veteran Freemasons.

Since our founding, we have been proud to witness how our activities have benefitted the Fort Leonard Wood community and beyond. Want to take part? Contribute to our work by joining and volunteering today.
